about OUR sanctuary
Sowa is a home for animals who had nowhere else to go.
Our rescued residents come to us after being unwanted, neglected, orphaned, disabled, or in need of specialized care. Here, they aren’t waiting for what’s next. They’re home.
We provide each animal with the individualized, lifelong care they need to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while creating a place where people can experience the connection, joy, and peace that animals bring into our lives.

It was amazing!
Truly is one of the most wonderful, peaceful, special places I’ve been to. All of the Sowa crew, humans and non-humans, are also incredibly friendly, kind and lovely. The Airbnb was amazing! Olivia and Jim’s hospitality and flexibility was phenomenal! The work they do is extraordinary and I highly recommend supporting the mission in any way you can!

Experience Sowa
COME EXPERIENCE THE PLACE THEY CALL HOME
Sowa was created first and foremost as a safe, lifelong home for rescued animals. But over the years, we’ve seen something beautiful happen: the animals who found refuge here have created a place that means something to people, too.
Whether you join us for a visit, spend a quiet weekend at our Airbnb, attend a special event, or volunteer alongside us, you’re invited to experience Sowa for yourself and your participation helps support the animals at the heart of it all.
